A supply contract is an operating profile

Annual renewable volume can hide hours of scarcity, curtailment or price exposure. The first planning pass should plot when electricity arrives and when the electrolyzer is expected to run. That simple view turns an abstract matching promise into a sequence of start, ramp, hold and stop conditions.

Flexibility has a cost and a value

Flexible operation may reduce exposure to high-cost hours, but frequent changes can influence maintenance planning and balance-of-plant design. Storage can smooth a profile, although it also brings losses, capital and control questions. Treating flexibility as free makes the model look cleaner while making the decision less reliable.
